December Views...Day 6

(Baby, it's cold outside...)

(Where it would have been nice to stay today...with my cranky old cat:)

My bedroom...I currently have a love/hate relationship with it. When it was first done I painted it a vibrant green...then I went to this sand colour...which in my minds eye, would make me think I was at the beach on vacation every morning when I awoke. Wrong! So now I am searching for a new colour(s)...I'm seeing a purple...red...orange... bohemian...gypsy...belly-dancing thing going on. Man, am I ever grateful that I have a patient husband. Speaking of him...He happened to have handcrafted our lovely nightstands...and our headboard from a vintage door...

Okay...so there's not denying it...I'm not at the beach...

i was going to ask about the headboard...it is a great piece. AND, i too am loving jewel toned colors, morrocan, bellydancing, world colors...but i like the simplicity of your room too...the deep red is nice and the white against the color of your walls works...i like it...

Funny, we have a nautical theme showing up in our bedroom and I feel the same way, that summer is just about as far away as you can imagine right now. You have my condolences that winter has found you.

I love the furniture! Your husband is very talented. Can't wait to see the colours you end up choosing for this room. I also hope you enjoy spending time with your tarot this Gemini moon, should you choose to do that.

How delightful. . . my post today also hits on the power of color! The photos of the snow prove that there's beauty everywhere, even if we're not in our dream place.

By the way, the Carnival Mask piece does have the feeling you noted. I used it as the image in a blog entry about false selves and keeping one's real self hidden.

Isn't blogging fun?

Oh, that cat. The absolutely right idea that cat has.

My bedroom is a taupe-y color with lots of whites in there, but it was periwinkle blue before that (which although a gorgeous color was TOO MUCH when on all 4 walls). Paint away if you want. You can always change your mind.

I love that headboard! I can't wait to see what you do with the walls..the rest of your house looks downright gorgeous, so I have no doubt, whatever colour you choose, it is going to be beautiful.

i went green so it would feel like spring even in the dark cold white of winter, so far so good :)

i can totally see a purple bellydance theme going on in there, lovely jewel tones ~ fun!!

Oh my God! I love the bedroom furniture. I've been having bedroom karma these days since we moved in to a small house. I am searching for a way to make a headboard and this has certainly inspired me ;))
