Today I ache...
For the light...
Sand between my toes...
The endless roar of the sea...
Dancing in the pauses of the waves...
The screech of birds soaring overhead...
Hauntingly beautiful cedars...reaching ever up to the sky...
Time worn...telling their tales...

Today I long for...
Farm fresh flowers in a milk carton...
Bought from a roadside stand...
Bike rides down island country roads...
Wooden basket picnics...
The flick of a whale's tale...

Breathing...breathing deep...
Fire lit faces...turned up to the stars...
Soft whispers...
Deep dreamed nights.

Yes...today I feel especially weary of this season of winter. It is not a day of sunshine, and glistening snow. No, those days I can honestly say I love winter. Today is grey...dreary...cold...wet...and I am shamelessly pining for the magic of a season that is still a little ways off...

I'm with you Celeste. Enough of old man winter! And those shots were beautiful and were the perfect match to your words. Did you take take these pictures yourself?

I love the warm and sunny days that beckon me out and infuse me with energy. But there's something to be said for damp and grey days that beg you to slow down and explore your own interior. They balance each other so well!

Oh sweetheart - keep hanging in there! I miss Canada SO much, but I just visited Dar and now you, so maybe I'm okay with not being there right NOW - giggle -

Sending you as much sunshine as you can handle!

I've been stumbling on posts with trees all morning...and feeling there is a message here for me...I hope it comes clear soon.

In the meantime, here on the east coast of Canada, your post resonated as my day is shrouded as great mounds of snow turn slowly and quietly to mist. A day for contemplation and...laundry.
