~Through The Looking-Glass~

Last night I was going through my bedtime ritual...and as I was rubbing in my face cream...looking in the mirror...I thought of how quickly I zeroed in on my 'faults'. My crooked teeth...wrinkles...scarred nose...dark circles under my eyes. These things don't really bother me that much...I have a pretty nonchalant attitude towards them. They're just there...and they are a part of me. And the funny thing is that I'm guessing most people wouldn't even notice them.

Then I started thinking of how our own perceptions of ourselves tend to differ so vastly from how others see us...and not just physically...personality wise too...
I think for the most part, others view us in a kinder light than we see ourselves.

Do you think you see yourself clearly for who you are? Would you like to peer into the looking-glass, and see yourself as others do...even for a few moments? Do you think you would be surprised by what you would see?

I think I am just beginning to see myself clearer... I am still contorting to fit inside this skin of mine...and show my own true colours...

Peace and comfort to you...

I think your colours are positively glorious just as they are :)

every time I read a post that you wrote or a comment you left for someone... it feels as if I 'see' you so clearly...
and sometimes it is like gazing into a crystal clear run brook and seeing my own reflection staring back at me :)

I think we do tend to be a bit more harsh on ourselves...
but you my lovely friend evoke feelings of a beautiful spring day.

I feel the breeze and see the wisteria blossoming... it is beautiful indeed :)

i know that i can be really harsh on myself and am working on being kinder and more gentle when it comes to me ... trying to see me more like i would if i were a friend which really we all should be, friends to ourselves ...

your paintings are so breathtaking, i love the colour and emotion of this one, xo

I would LOVE to see how others see me. Even if it was worse than I thought. But you are right, it probably wouldn't be.

This post was very comforting... thank you... I would like to think that people see me differently than I use to view myself... I've always avoided mirrors, and I'm the first to run if a camera is pulled out... *sigh

I see you clearly and it is a marvelous sight.

:-)

Love to you,
